Penrhos Rd provides a crucial link to all pedestrians, commuters and students to and from Bangor whilst also been one of the main bus Networks into the City and Hospital including the Sherpa and T2 services.

As part of the Scope for YGC, the Project Delivery Team is assisting with the Project Management and Site Supervision of the scheme on behalf of our Client’s Cyngor Gwynedd and Transport for Wales.

The works involve the Construction of a new Active Travel path between Ysbyty Gwynedd and Ffordd Coed Mawr, which will also involve the installation of 2 new controlled crossing facilities at Ysgol Y Garnedd and Ffordd Coed Mawr as these will provide safe crossing facilities and links to the Hospital and the Schools within the vicinity.

Works commenced at Coed Y Maes and will have aimed to completed up to Pen y Ffridd Rd before the Christmas break.

The design was carried out by WSP, with YGC assuming the role of Principal Designer and undertook the procurement and Project Delivery role of the scheme.

All civils works are being carried out by Griffiths Contractors Ltd. The project is funded by the Welsh Government (WG) Active Travel Fund and supported by Transport for Wales (TfW).
