This was a proposal by Gwynedd Council to provide additional Park and Share facilities
at strategic locations to mitigate the potential risk of fly-parking during the construction of the Wylfa Newydd nuclear power station. One of the sites chosen for development was at Bryn Cegin, Llys y Gwynt in Llandygai.
The final design has a total of 178 car park spaces, of which 12 are disabled spaces. The design was developed to include:
- 11no Electrical charging bays
- Improved pedestrian footpaths within the site
- Improved access and footpaths
- Bus stop and shelter
- Cycle shelter to accommodate 10 no cyclist
- 9no Motor cycle parking areas
This scheme involved selecting the most suitable location for a park and share facility by conducting a SWOT analysis of various location proposed by the client. Once a suitable location was selected, YGC were then able to design a park and share facility which met the client’s requirements. Prior to procuring the project YGC prepared all the relevant contract documentation for the scheme as well as applying for planning permission.
On the return of the tenders, YGC along with the client undertook the tender assessment task before appointing the successful contractor. Following the appointment of the successful contractor, YGC undertook the Project Management and Site Supervision duties on behalf of the client ensuring that the project met the clients needs in terms of cost, quality and time.
