The improvement work to existing car park including providing formalised car parking bays. Work included removal of existing ground vegetation and over coating existing hardcore sub-base with reinforced grids to improve parking and access road areas. Parking bays / access road was formed with new cellular grids and infilled with gravel. Cellular confinement system was installed below new cellular grids within all Root Protection Areas’ (RPA’s). The central pedestrian path area was finished with tarmacdam.
Planning approval was required due to the site being within Parc Glynllifon, which is a Grade I registered historic park and garden. The site is also a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Site of Scientific Interest. SAB approval was also required for this project.
YGC provided full Project Management services including contract administrator and Principal Designer role on this project. YGC carried out the design stage works and managed the project from inception to completion. Work started on site March 2022 and was completed in May 2022. YGC provided the drainage design services as well as the required environmental & ecological reporting. Full SAB approval was obtained prior to commencement. The work was completed within the client budget and time frame. The project ran smoothly largely due to the co-operation between the client, project manager and principal contractor.
