The Sherpa bus service travels around the foot of Yr Wyddfa, creating a valuable link between the six main routes up the mountain, the area’s main car parks, villages and attractions.
As part of the Scope for YGC, the Project Delivery Team assisted with 10 new bespoke shelters for the Sherpa route. The work involved liaising with Parc Eryri and various other stakeholders.
Shelters were installed in Bethesda, Llyn Ogwen. Pen Y Gwryd, Waunfawr and Caeathro. One of the main interchange in Llanberis was also installed subject to numerous planning constraints.
The Project Delivery team undertook the detailed design, phasing of works, procurement, project management and supervision role.
All civils worked were carried out by a local contractor, SJ and S Williams.
