A496 LLANBEDR CONSULTATION

A496 Llanbedr Access Improvement Scheme – Pre-application consultation

The Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012 and Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2016, places a requirement upon the developer to undertake a minimum 28 day consultation period before applying for planning permission for all ‘Major Developments’.  The consultation period for this proposed development will run between the following dates:

Start date: 11 May 2017, End date: 12 Jun 2017

We are preparing to submit an application for planning consent for the A496 Llanbedr Access Improvement scheme.

To fulfil our obligations under the above acts, we are writing to all affected landowners/occupiers, community consultees and specialist consultees, and also placing public notices on site, to invite feedback on our draft planning application and technical supporting documents.

The consultation period runs for 33 days – from 11th of May 2017 through until the 12th of June 2017. We will then submit a planning application for the A496 Llanbedr Access Improvement Scheme to the Snowdonia National Park Authority.

Details of the pre-application consultation package are available to view here.

The package includes the following document, reports and drawings

As well as consulting with those directly impacted we also welcome feedback from the community in general on our proposal to construct a new road to the west of Llanbedr approximately 1.5 km in length.  The new road will diverge from the A496 north of Llanbedr close to the sewage treatment works and will head south to pass to the west of Llanbedr crossing over the Afon Artro and Mochras Road just to the east of the public car park off Mochras Road.  The road will then head roughly southwards to tie into the existing A496 close to Llwyn y Pin.

Any comments will inform our submission of a planning application to the local planning authority.  All comments received within the consultation period will be documented and addressed within a Consultation Report, which will be submitted along with our planning application.

Anyone who wishes to make representations about this proposed development must write to us via email at:
