A journey in memory of Cefin Edwards
A group from YGC will be cycling from Pwllheli to Caernarfon and another group will be walking from Bryncir to Caernarfon on the 7th of May 2022 in memory of our friend Cefin Edwards. We are raising funds towards Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, CAC – Climbers Against Cancer and accepting donations towards Arfon Food Bank. Please support us if you can.

Back in December we received extremely sad news that a friend and colleague of many of us at Gwynedd Council, Cefin Edwards had died following a short illness. All of our thoughts remain with the Cefin family and his colleagues in the YGC Department.
Cefin always had a smile on his face (mischievous some say) and was more than happy to support everyone using his wide experience. He was a diplomat, able to relate to a wide range of people from inside and outside the Council, and was willing to put forward unique and practical ideas to improve solutions to any problem. Cef was highly regarded across the Department, the Council and the industry.
Cefin joined the former Gwynedd County Council in 1979 from McAlpines, where he worked on a massive “Dinorwic Hydro Electric Power” scheme. In his time with the Council he worked on all sorts of very challenging schemes.

He was highly regarded for his knowledge and experience; most of all, his character was the key to this. We at YGC have all lost a much loved and respected colleague and friend. It was a privilege to work with Cef and call him a friend.
